Access Control and Biometric Security in Hull

TL;DR: Paxton Net2 and Paxton10 access control across Hull and East Yorkshire, with CDVI for biometric and facial recognition at high-security doors. Single-door offices through to multi-site portfolios with hundreds of credentials. Engineers carry enhanced DBS certificates; every install ships with documented credentials and door schedules.

What does an access control install include?

Door hardware (mag locks, electric strikes, mortice releases), readers (fob, keypad, card, smartphone Bluetooth, biometric), the Net2 controller with cached offline credentials, the central management software install, credential database build, door schedules and time zones, and engineer training for the site administrator. ICO-compliant credential records ship with the system. Most single-door installs complete in half a day; multi-door multi-site rolls out across one to three weeks.

Is Flextec a Paxton-accredited installer?

Yes — accredited Paxton installer for both Net2 and Paxton10. Paxton Net2 covers the majority of SME and multi-site commercial work — fob, keypad, card or smartphone Bluetooth at the reader. Net2 software runs on a single management PC or networked across sites. Paxton10 adds video integration where the access control and camera system live in one platform. Encrypted credentials only — clonable 125kHz fobs are not fitted.

How does access control stay GDPR / ICO compliant?

Credential records are minimised — name, role, doors, time zones, in/out events. No biometric template is stored unless the site specifies a biometric reader (CDVI fingerprint or facial). The system administrator can produce subject-access exports per ICO guidance. Leaver records are anonymised on departure unless a legitimate interest applies (insurance, dispute, regulatory). The full ICO-compliant data-flow document is supplied at handover.

Paxton for most commercial sites

Paxton Net2 covers the majority of SME and multi-site commercial work — fob, keypad, card, or smartphone Bluetooth at the reader. Net2 software runs on a single management PC or networked across sites. Paxton10 adds video integration where the access control and camera system need to live in one platform. Encrypted credentials only — we do not fit clonable 125kHz fobs.

Biometric and high-security

Where fingerprint, facial recognition or PIN-plus-card is required — server rooms, pharmacy stockrooms, finance departments — we specify CDVI biometric readers integrated into the wider access control. Dual-factor at the most sensitive doors is standard practice. Anti-passback and time-zoning are configurable per credential so contractors only get through where and when they should.

Integration and offline resilience

Doors store credentials locally — if the network drops, valid fobs still grant access against cached rules and event logs sync when comms restore. Fire alarm activation releases magnetic locks per BS 7273-4 fail-safe standards. Time-and-attendance exports to payroll where the customer wants to use the same system for staff hours.
